Senior Advisor
Coalition to Expand Contraceptive Access (CECA)
Resources Legacy Fund (RLF) works with philanthropists to conserve land, water, and ocean resources while advancing healthy communities and social equity. We engage economically and ethnically diverse communities as we foster new funding and better policies for environmental protection and climate change adaptation.
The Coalition to Expand Contraceptive Access (CECA) works to ensure that supporters of equitable reproductive health are positioned to ask federal Executive Branch agencies to move quickly on a set of prioritized actions and take back responsibility for providing contraceptive access for all people of reproductive age. CECA is a sponsored project of RLF.
The Senior Advisor is responsible for providing guidance and subject matter expertise in reproductive health policy, with a particular focus on funding strategies and health systems reform that lead to expanded contraceptive access. The Senior Advisor reports to the CECA Executive Director. This full-time position is exempt and duties include:
Cultivate strong and cooperative working partnerships and engage with foundations, consultants, and other partners.
Provide strategic guidance to the program, with a particular focus on cross-system collaboration, health system reform, and payment strategies.
Assist with convening and facilitating meetings of partners, consultants, and or/staff as needed to advance program objectives.
Research, prepare, and assemble documents which may include presentations, general correspondence, reports, and other materials.
Analyze policy and recommend means of engagement on key issues, with a particular focus on funding strategies.
Undertake special projects as needed.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Advanced education or knowledge of sexual and reproductive health, rights, and justice.
Advanced education or knowledge of federal health policy, in particular health system reform, and payment strategies.
Experience designing and coordinating technical expert panels or other convenings.
Exceptional composition skills. Ability to synthesize extensive information from multiple sources into a lucid, cohesive written product. With an understanding of tone and style, compose written information that effectively communicates the desired message to the intended audience(s).
Outstanding editing skills. Critical eye for grammar, punctuation, and syntax. Commitment to the highest quality written products.
Flexibility in working style, marked by an ability to work closely with a wide range of personality and organization types and teams.
Excellent oral and written communication skills to ensure full-circle communication with program staff and thorough dissemination of important tasks, projects, and meetings. Skillful in adjusting communication style to interact with clients, staff, and stakeholders in a professional, courteous, and tactful manner at all times.
Ability to resolve conflicts professionally and maintain patience, grace, and humor under pressure.
Ability to adhere to numerous deadlines, conflicting priorities and handle multiple tasks efficiently. Ability to receive, balance, and handle direction and input from multiple colleagues.
Technological abilities to ensure compliance with confidentiality policies and procedures necessary for the protection of RLF data, and to efficiently complete tasks.
Capacity to respond rapidly and appropriately to changing priorities, objectives, and situations; self-starter with sense of initiative and good judgment.
Ability to perform tasks with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail, as well as anticipate informational needs as situations and projects develop.
